Old Rosehearty, Sandhaven and New Aberdour

£11.00

Rosehearty and Sandhaven, on the north east coast of Scotland experienced speedy development linked to the fishing industry and specifically to the East Coast herring industry boom in the mid-19th century.  When the herring shoals decreased, the villages diversified into tourism but the short season limited the growth of the industry.  New Aberdour was a tradesman village serving the local region.  Today the area is a popular residential spot with many folk commuting quite a distance to work, preferring a high quality of family life over convenience.  The charm of the area is beautifully demonstrated in the collection of photographs here.
