Old Udny, Tarves and Methlick

£8.00

Udny, Tarves and Methilick, three small but interesting Aberdeenshire villages that up until the later half of the 20th cetury relied on agriculture as their main source of income, but being only around 25 miles from Aberdeen these quaint villages have now become a commuter’s paradise. This book is a nostalgic look back at those early 20th century days when you were more likely to pass a horse on the road than a car, when children played in the street with no shoes and trains were on time. There are images of Collynie Farm which even today is fully operational, Udny Station, Woodside Terrace built by the eccentric James Duncan out of local granite, The Square in Tarves which has barely changed since it was built and the glorious Haddo House which was built in the early eighteenth century.
